When the gym found me I was scrawny, uncomfortable in my body and mind, and had never really done anything I felt proud of. I was in a relationship with a man who made me cry constantly and I had no intentions of leaving him. I would surround myself with “friends” whenever I possibly could because I refused to deal with the thoughts I heard when no one was around. What got me into the gym was Kim K making big booties the new “ideal body type” and since I couldn’t afford a BBL, planet fitness was my only option. 

I tried all sorts of exercises I found on Pinterest for months before I started to question if they were even doing anything. It wasn’t until a fellow planet fitness member and I got to talking and I discovered what powerlifting was. He took me to a gym where I met all sorts of personal trainers and some of the strongest humans I’d ever seen. From that day on the barbell became my best friend. I spent all my free time researching which exercises contribute to the greatest gains and how to perform them properly and the results came FAST.

Developing my body through learning and discipline gave me the confidence to do the same for my mind. I ended things with my boyfriend, started journaling, reading books on self improvement, following through on projects, finding ways to make more money, and building deeper connections with women that make me BETTER. Along with all that I got the one thing I wanted the most, a fat ass. Plus, I can bench more than my brother and bringing that up takes him from cocky to humble real quick.
